Dabney S. Lancaster Community College

Our day started with canoe practice on Douthat Lake.

After lunch, we investigated a vernal pool at the base of Douthat dam.

The water looks 6 inches deep, but it's really over 2 feet deep!

Spring peepers: tiny frogs with a "mega" voice.

A box turtle is wary of coming out of its shell after being handled by Governor's School students.

We returned to DSLCC to learn how to conduct a benthic macroinvertebrate sampling to determine the quality of the river water.
