Greenbrier State Forest


Early morning at the Greenbrier State Forest campground.


Laying out a 50-m transect in the forest.


A 1-m square is used to assess ground cover (rocks, moss, herbs, and woody debris).


Counting seedlings and shrubs in a 5-m square plot.


Measuring the dbh (diameter at breast height) of the selected trees.
