Getting on the bus for our 3-day camping trip in Laurel Fork.
After a stop at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Greenbank, WV (and
a stop at Henry's for last-minute items), we had a picnic lunch atop Gaudineer Knob.
The spruce forest on Gaudineer Knob is filled with hummocky moss.
Then we hiked to a stand of virgin timber ("old growth").
Many of the original spruce have been toppled by wind.
The rootballs should be in an art museum!
Our campsite at Locust Spring in Laurel Fork.
