Salamander study trip to Laurel Fork in Highland County

After striking camp, we had a "wilderness survival" quiz. Some participants prefered to work sitting down.

While others preferred to work standing up.

We followed that session with a silent hike through the spruce forest along Locust Spring Trail.

This year we made a stop at Cass, WV, rather than returning to Henry's in Greenbank for our traditional end-of-camp pizza lunch.

The reason for this change? One of our particpant's family runs the Last Run Restaurant in Cass.

Lunch in the Last Run Restaurant.

Followed by complimentary ice cream at the soda fountain. Thanks!

Cass' main attraction is a steam-driven tourist train.

Sue takes care of drying out the tents for the next trip.
