We started our time at Douthat State Park with a nature-themed scavenger hunt.
Our mentor-aides judged the winners of the scavenger hunt.
Lunch time!
What a difference two weeks make. A lovely patch of milkweed - food for monarch
butterflies whose population is rapidly decreasing - was mowed down today.
This is what the milkweed patch looked like on June 18.
After a short tree walk to get last-minute photos, we headed back to the DSLCC campus for a long afternoon of computer work.
The huge "Stump Blossom" fungus is always a hit when we visit Douthat State Park.
This fungus is about 2 feet across.
