A Trip to the Vernal Pool at Douthat State Park

Our "official" Salamander Session group photo. Click on the photo for a full-size version.

The vernal pool in Douthat State Park. This trip is always a Governor's School favorite.

Wading in the vernal pool muck.

After the vernal pool, we had a short hike to find a few more wildflowers for our e-guides. Here we are investigating a patch of milkweed.

The afternoon was devoted to working on our e-guides in the library computer lab.

Critter of the Day

"Mr. Green Frog" is the mascot of the vernal pool in Douthat State Park.
