Saturday, July 8

Your day begins "whenever" and ends as late as you wish (or your parents allow).

Friday, July 7

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM

Bring your flash drive and camera and field journal. Your e-guide must be completed before you leave today.
If you need extra time, the computer lab opens at 7:30 AM.

Bring a bag lunch. Drinks are available from vending machines for about $1.50

E-Guides, Journals and Notebooks must be completed and will be reviewed at lunch time.

Parents and family members are invited to a short reception at 1:30 PM.


Thursday, July 6

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM

Bring a bag lunch. Drinks are available from vending machines for about $1.50

Last opportunity to bring a T-Shirt Design. If we get some designs, we will choose a design TODAY! If not, there will be no T-Shirt for this session!
(T-Shirts will cost about $10.)

Bring your flash drive and camera and field journal. We will be completing e-guides today.

Journals and Notebooks will be reviewed at lunch time.


Wednesday, July 5

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM

Bring a bag lunch and a drink. We will have a picnic at Douthat State Park.

Wear suitable clothing -- we will be walking around Douthat State Park -- rain or shine! So bring your raingear if appropriate.

Bring your T-Shirt Designs. We will choose a design soon! T-Shirts will cost about $10.

Bring your flash drive and camera and field journal. We will be working on e-guides today.

Journals and Notebooks will be reviewed in the afternoon.


Monday, July 3

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM

Bring a bag lunch. Drinks will not be available today -- DSLCC is officially closed, so Moomaw, etc. will not be open.

Bring your T-Shirt Designs. We will choose a design soon!

Bring your flash drive and camera and field journal. We will be working on e-guides today.

A calculator will be useful. You probably have one on your phone!

Journals and Notebooks will be reviewed at lunch time.


Tuesday, June 27

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:30 PM on Thursday, June 29

Bring a bag lunch for a picnic at Roaring Run.

Use the camping checklist! But don't over-pack!

Comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle are musts for this trip!

If you want to join the "Polar Bear Club" at Roaring Run, wear your swimsuit under your clothes. There's no changing room at the top of Roaring Run trail!

You may want some money for firewood (about $5 per bundle).
On Thursday, we will also make a stop at the visitor center at Cranberry Mountain, which has a gift shop and usually has soft drinks for sale.
There's a swimming pool at Greenbrier State Forest that we may be able to take advantage of at a cost of about $2 per day.

Bring any props or equipment you need for the Talent Show on Wednesday evening.

Don't forget raingear, some warm clothes (e.g. sweatshirt, jacket) for cool evenings, insect repellent, and sunscreen.


Monday, June 26 -- Forestry Study, Day 1

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM
Meet in Room 404 in Warren Hall.

Bring a bag lunch. Drinks are available from vending machines for about $1.50

Bring the camera(s) you will be using for your field guide.

Returning Salamander Study participants -- bring your binder, field notebook, and drawing pencils.

Dress for the weather. Wear good walking shoes: we will be doing a good bit of walking around campus and going into the woods to prepare for our forestry study. Flip-flops are not acceptable footwear!


Friday, June 23

For participants returning for the Forestry Session -- Rest up for a new session starting on Monday!


Thursday, June 22

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM

Bring your flash drive and camera and field journal. Your e-guide must be completed before you leave today.

Bring a bag lunch. Drinks are available from vending machines for about $1.50

If you want a T-Shirt, bring $10. No extras will be ordered!

Please bring $3 to pay Jane for pizza at Henry's last week.

E-Guides, Journals and Notebooks must be completed and will be reviewed at lunch time.

Our day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 15

Bring a bag lunch for a picnic atop Gaudineer Knob.

Use the camping checklist! But don't over-pack!

You may want some spending money for short stops at the convenience store in Greenbank.

Don't forget raingear and warm clothes.

T-Shirt designs may be turned in today -- deadline is Monday!


Monday, June 12 -- Salamander Study, Day 1
